Coffee with a purpose

Coffee, art, and a family farm.

Pueblo Chico Coffee grows at Finca Querencia, a working family farm in San Luis de Monteverde, Costa Rica.

It brings together years of coffee growing, a passion for specialty coffee, and an artistic vision shaped by life on the farm. Each generation contributes something: the planting, the attention to the coffee, and the creative expression that gives Pueblo Chico its character.

The landscape that grows the coffee also inspires the art surrounding it. Through Pueblo Chico, both find their way beyond the farm—into a cup, a drawing, and the small rituals of everyday life.

A small village. A small batch. A small footprint.

Pueblo Chico Coffee is more than just great coffee — it's about contributing to a sustainable and thriving future. For every bag sold, a tree is planted in partnership with the Costa Rican Conservation Foundation, helping to restore native forests, safeguard wildlife habitats, and protect Monteverde's vital ecosystems.

Grown in small lots among forest corridors connected to the Monteverde Reserve, our coffee reflects one of the most biodiverse landscapes on Earth. Honey-processed on the farm, it preserves the bright, layered character of cloud-forest coffee, with notes of cacao, caramel, roasted nuts, and citrus acidity.

The farm

Where the road ends, the cloud forest begins.

Finca Querencia sits at the end of the road in its own private valley in San Luis de Monteverde, between 1,000 and 1,400 meters of elevation. On clear days, the Pacific Ocean is visible from the upper pastures.

Coffee is at the heart of the farm, but Querencia is a working finca in the fullest sense: a small dairy operation, chickens, sheep, and a large organic fruit and vegetable garden all form part of the same living system. The farm is productive, diverse, and deeply connected to the surrounding forest.

We grow Caturra, Catuaí, and Costa Rica 95 in small lots among forest corridors connected to the Monteverde Reserve. Our regenerative approach relies on biological pest management, on-farm compost, bioferments, and careful cultivation without synthetic shortcuts. Finca Querencia is a working classroom for caficultura and small-scale agriculture that restores soil, supports biodiversity, and gives more to the land than it takes.
